CYCLADES, Paros. Early 2nd century BC. Drachm (Silver, 17 mm, 3.87 g, 12 h), Kte..., magistrate. Head of a female (Demeter?) to right, wearing wreath of grain ears and necklace of pearls. Rev. ΠAPI / KTH within ivy wreath with berries above and tying below. Tully p. 87, D3.B, 7a (this coin, O6/R6). Extremely rare, by far the finest of just two known examples. A beautiful piece struck on excellent silver and with wonderful old collection toning. Minor edge splits, otherwise, about extremely fine.
